Passenger flights on domestic and international routes are likely to resume from May 31, a day after the general holidays due to coronavirus pandemic come to an end on May 30.
State Minister for Civil Aviation Mahbub Ali made the disclosure to media Wednesday (May 27).
“The aviation authorities have taken all sorts of preparations. Flights must be resumed on May 31 after lifting the ongoing suspension,” he said.
Asked whether flights would be operational after May 30, he said, "We have to start."
“We will sit down and have immediate discussion with everyoneto decide on how to start flights”, the minister added.
Earlier in the day, State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain confirmed that the ongoing general holidays due to coronavirus pandemic will not be extended beyond May 30. As a result, officesarereopening from May 31. And from that day onwards, the aviation authorities will be able to operate flights as well.
