Police on Saturday arrested a bus driver and his helper in Chattogram for allegedly pushing off a passenger from a moving bus following an altercation over bus fare.
The arrestees are driver Ashraf and his helper Hanif.
Passenger Abdul Hamid suffered injuries on Friday night when he was pushed off a bus at Ispahani intersection in the city, said Kotwali Police Station officer-in-charge Mohammad Nezam Uddin.
Hamid said, “I was going to Lalkhan Bazar from Gate-2 area of the city. As the helper asked me for the fare I gave Tk 5 but he demanded Tk 8. After verbally assaulting me. He pushed me off the bus.”
Hamid filed a case at Kotwali Police Station on the charge of attempting murder.
Police seized the bus after arresting the two.
