A 42-year-old man died after being knocked down by a motorcycle in the Bhayna area of ​​Magura district on Friday morning, police said.

The deceased Sikandar Ali, was the son of Muslim Ali of Vitasair village in Magura town.

Sheikh Mehedi Russell, officer in-charge (OC) of Magura police station, said the accident occurred around 10am when a young man riding on the motorcycle hit Sikandar Ali from behind in front of the textile mill on Magura-Jashore road, leaving him seriously injured.

Locals rescued him and took him to Magura 250-bed hospital. He later died on the way to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, added the OC.

A case was filed at Magura police station in connection with the accident, the police officer said.
