The body of Pankaj Bhattacharya will be taken to Central Shaheed Minar here on Tuesday for the public to pay last tributes to the veteran politician who died at the age of 83, his family sources said.

The public homage to one of the organisers of the 1971 War of Liberation will be paid from 10 am to 12 noon before he is cremated at Postogola Crematorium in Dhaka, said a family member.

Pankaj breathed his last early hours of Monday at Health and Hope Hospital in Dhaka. He has been suffering from old age ailments, including breathing complications. He was put on life support on Saturday after his condition deteriorated.
