The state filed a petition against seven accused who obtained bail from the High Court (HC) in a murder case by concealing facts and manipulating documents. The murder took place at Ghohordanga village in Terokhada upazila of Khulna on August 07, 2019.
Confirming the matter to The Business Post on Friday, Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Saifuddin Khaled said, “Despite their confessional statements they got bail. So, we filed a petition before the court for the cancellation of the bail and seeking an order to arrest them.”

"The HC bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Md Atoar Rahman fixed Sunday to hear the matter after filing of a recall petition” added the DAG.
Earlier on August 7, 2019, criminals stabbed a young man to death and injured another at Ghohordanga village in Terokhada upazila. The deceased was identified as Naim Sheikh 26, son of Hiru Sheikh of the village. According to the media report, several assailants attacked the house of Hiru Sheikh around 3am and hit him with sharp weapons. Hearing screams, Naim rushed in and tried to save his father. The miscreants stabbed Naim indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot. Hiru Sheikh was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital who succumbed to his wounds.
Later, police arrested the accused and three of them gave confessional statements before a Khulna court. The court denied bail and sent them to jail. But on February 18 of this year they filed an appeal with the HC and obtained bail on February 24.
The seven accused are: Sheikh Saiful Islam, Abdur Rahman, Khalid Sheikh, Iskander Sheikh, Jamir Sheikh, Ziarul Sheikh and Abbas Sheikh.
