Photojourno Kajol shown arrested in another DSA case
File Photo: After his 53-day disappearance, photo journalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol was detained by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the Benapole border in Jashore on May 3.

Photojournalist Shafiqul Islam Kajol has been shown arrested in another case filed with Kamrangirchar Police Station in Dhaka under the Digital Security Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah issued the order on Monday, granting a petition submitted on July 22 by Md Rassel Mollah, sub-inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police and also the investigation officer (IO) of the case.

The magistrate witnessed Kajol in the hearing took place through a videoconference with the authorities of Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj, the custodians of the accused.

Sumaiya Chowdhury Banna, member of Bangladesh Jubo Mahila League's Central Committee, filed the case against Kajol under the DSA with Kamrangirchar Police Station on March 11.

Earlier in March, three separate cases were filed against Kajol with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Kamrangirchar, and Hazaribagh police stations under the DSA.
