PHP Family Chairman Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman said PHP is working towards the goal of making healthcare available and affordable to everyone in the country.
Bangladesh achieved its independence through lakhs of martyrs’ sacrifice, and no one in the country should die of starvation or lack of treatment. The country should be enhanced in education and healthcare sectors, and represented in the global arena, he added.
Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman made the remarks while inaugurating PHP Family Floor – built with funds from PHP Family – at the Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital on Wednesday. The launching ceremony started at 11am, with Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman as the chief guest.
Earlier in the day, the PHP Family chairman visited healthcare services and various departments of the newly built cancer hospital. He expressed his satisfaction with the overall operation of the facility, and offered special prayers seeking further development of the hospital.
The ceremony was presided over by the hospital’s Executive Committee Acting President Syed Mohamed Morshed Hossain, and moderated by General Secretary Mohammad Rezaul Karim Azad. Editor of Dainik Azadi MA Malek attended the programme as special guest.
Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman said, “I started my career with a Tk 100 job. From there, we have this huge PHP Family today. To be established in life, everyone has to work hard. If you work with honesty and sincerity, then it will be possible to get established in life.”
“The Chattogram Maa-O-Shishu Hospital is a healthcare facility for the public at large. The PHP family has longstanding ties with this institution. We assure more cooperation for this cancer hospital.”
Speaking as the special guest, MA Malek said, “We have recently started a cancer hospital here with public funding. The people of Chattogram will now get complete treatment, including radiotherapy, at a low cost.
“The patients will no longer have to leave Chattogram for cancer treatment.”
Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman’s wife Tahmina Rahman, daughter Fatema Tuz Zohra, PHP Family Vice Chairman Mohammed Mohsin, Managing Director Mohamed Iqbal Hossain, Directors Mohammed Anowarul Haque, Amir Hossain Sohel, Mohamed Ali Hossain, Jahirul Islam Rinku, and Mohammed Akther Parvez spoke on the occasion among others.
