A fire broke out at a plastic factory at Sowari Ghat area in Old Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
The fire erupted at around 4:46pm at the factory, housed on the ground floor of a four-storey building near the Police Box at Sowari Ghat in Chawkbazar, according to the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Four firefighting units – two from Lalbagh and two from Hazaribagh – rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at around 5:38pm.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.
