Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed authorities concerned to start Covid-19 vaccination programme at union and ward levels.

The minister said this to reporters after a cabinet meeting at the secretariat on Monday.‎

The Prime Minister had also directed to vaccinate the elderly because the fatality rate from the deadly infection is high among them, the minister said.‎

‎‎The minister also said all adult family members of Covid-19 frontline fighters would be vaccinated.
