Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday greeted Abdel Fattah Al Sisi on his re-election as the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Sheikh Hasina in a letter sent to Egyptian President said "On behalf of the Government and the People of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to you on your re-election as the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt".
She added: "Your sweeping victory for the consecutive third term to this highest position clearly demonstrates your visionary statesmanship that combines your exemplary commitment, dedication, and service to the nation".
"Bangladesh attaches high priority to its relations with Egypt, which draws further strength from our collective stakes in emerging areas of cooperation," said the premier.
"Both countries have been carrying forward a historic, traditional, and friendly connection at bilateral and multilateral levels," she said, adding, "I firmly believe that together, we can embark on exploring new avenues of collaboration to further deepen and strengthen the existing partnership."
Sheikh Hasina wishes Sisi's good health, happiness, and personal well-being and continued peace, progress, and prosperity of brotherly Egyptian people.
