Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of valiant freedom fighter and president of Bangladesh Mahila Parishad Ayesha Khanam.
In a message of condolence, the premier said the country’s women community has lost a genuine and brave compatriot at the death of the women leader.
She prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Ayesha Khanam breathed her last around 5am on Saturday while undergoing treatment at BIRDEM General Hospital in Dhaka. She was 74.
Her family sources said she was suffering from cancer for a long time.
