A fortnight-long scroll painting based on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's life will begin on Sunday at Nalini Kanta Bhattasali Gallery at the National Museum in the city.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the exhibition of the country's largest scroll painting titled "Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib: Great Canvas of the Great Life" joining virtually the inaugural function at Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesa Mujib Auditorium at the Nation Museum at 11:00am, said a press release here on Saturday.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee is organising the event to make Bangabandhu's birth centenary and the golden jubilee of the country's independence memorable.

Noted painting artist Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash drew the 150 feet-long scroll painting illustrating Bangabandhu's life and works, which is expected to inspire the people to be imbued with the ideals of Father of the Nation.

Birth centenary celebration committee's Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury will deliver the welcome address in the inaugural function while Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, artist Afzal Hossain, Bangladesh Charu Shilpi Sangsad President Artist Jamal Ahmed and painting artiste Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash will also spoke at the function.
