Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is currently addressing the nation, marking the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence.
"All over the world, Bangladesh is now a role model of progress and poverty alleviation, and we must make a vow to take the nation to new heights," she said in her speech.
"Anti-liberation forces, even after 50 years of independence, are trying to thwart the progress of the nation," the PM added.
The Prime Minister (PM) began her speech at 7:30pm. State-owned Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar are simultaneously broadcasting the PM’s address.
