Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday unveiled a book titled "Sajeeb Wazed Joy: A Spirited Graceful Journey" marking the 50th birthday of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, her only son and the grandson of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The bilingual book is titled “Sajeeb Wazed Joy: Tarunnodipto Gorbito Pothchola” in Bangla.
The Prime Minister unveiled the book at Ganabhaban on Tuesday morning, according to a media statement.
The book featured a number of articles, newsletters and rare photographs on the life of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, who is also the ICT adviser affairs to the Prime Minister. The book is dedicated to the young generation of Bangladesh.
It was his vision to build a “Digital Bangladesh” as mentioned in the 2008 election manifesto of the Awami League, the statement reads.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak is the advisory editor of the 160-page book.
Chowdhury Nafiz Sarafat, chairman of the Canadian University of Bangladesh and the Padma Bank, edited the book.
The cover and layout of the book were designed by Shahriar Khan Barna.
Yasin Kabir Joy of Joyeeta Prokashoni published the book. The price of the book is Tk 3,000. The book is also available in e-book format on the website - https://gorbitopothchola.net/.
The Prime Minister on Tuesday also released a special commemorative postage stamp, an opening day cover and a data card marking the birth anniversary of her ICT affairs adviser.
She unveiled the Tk 10 stamp, a Tk 10 opening day cover and a Tk 5 data card at Ganabhaban residence in the morning.
Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar, PMO Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Afzal Hossain and Director General of Directorate of Posts, Bangladesh Post Office, Md Siraz Uddin, were present on the occasion.
The stamp, first-day cover and data card would be sold from the Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka, GPO and at other GPOs and head post offices across the country.
