PM's new press secy pays homage to Bangabandhu

The newly-appointed Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Md Nayeemul Islam Khan on Saturday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi in Dhaka.

After laying the wreath, the press secretary stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of Bangabandhu, the architect of Bangladesh's independence, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary MM Emrul Kayas told BSS.

Renowned senior journalist Md Nayeemul Islam Khan has been appointed as the prime minister's press secretary with the status of secretary on a contractual basis.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on June 6, which mentioned that Nayeemul Islam Khan would remain in office for the duration of the prime minister's term or be subject to her satisfaction from the date of his joining.
