Poet Manzur-e-Moula passes away

Poet-essayist and former director-general of Bangla Academy Manzur-e-Moula died at a hospital in Dhaka on Sunday after being diagnosed with coronavirus infection. He was 80.

He breathed his last around 11am today while undergoing treatment at United Hospital.

Quoting the deceased’s family members, Bangla Academy Deputy Director Sarker Amin confirmed the matter to the media.

Manzur-e-Moula was admitted to the hospital on December 5 after he tested positive for Covid-19.

He served as the DG of Bangla Academy in 1983.
