Police in a drive arrested a member of a human trafficking gang from Rautail in sadar upazila of Jhenaidah district on Wednesday night.
The arrestee was identified as Khaled, 36, son of Abdus Sattar of Ramnagar village in sadar upazila.
Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of sadar police station, said Trisha Begum, wife of expatriate Shahinur Rahman of Kumrabaria village in the upazila, was trafficked to Dubai by a syndicate on January 1.
Daughter of the victim Shyamoli Khatun filed a case against two people—Nasir Uddin, 48 and Patal, 45—with Jhenaidah District and Sessions Judge Court.
Later, the court asked the sadar police station to submit a report in this regard.
During investigation, police arrested Nasir Uddin and following his confessional statement Khaled’s involvement was found in human trafficking.
