Police have dispersed a demonstration by Gana Adhikar Parishad over the recent hike in prices of essential and other commodities, at Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka on Friday.
The protest began with a rally, led by former DUCSU leader Nurul Haque Nur, from the National Press Club area in the morning and ended at Shahbagh.
Later, the protesters held a demonstration at Shahbagh by chanting slogans denouncing the recent price hike.
At one point, police disperced the protest and barricaded the area.
