Police seek 24-day remand for Mamunul

Police sought a 24-day remand for Hefajat-e Islam leader Mamunul Haque in three cases filed against him with Sonargaon police station in Narayanganj.

Of the three cases, one was filed by Jannat Ara Jhorna on April 30 accusing Mamunul of rape, torture and fraud on promise of marriage.

Narayanganj superintendent of police Jayedul Alam said that 10 days of remand has been sought in the case filed by Jhorna.

Mamunul was accused in two other cases filed by police in connection with violence at Royal Resort in Sonargaon and at an office of Awami League.
