Prof Dr TIM Abdullah-Al-Faruq, principal of Popular Medical College, died of Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at its own hospital on Tuesday morning.
Foundation for Doctors Safety Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) Joint Secretary-General Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury confirmed the matter to the media.
Dr TIM Abdullah-Al-Faruq was a professor at the Surgery department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and a senior counsellor at Bangladesh College of Physicians & Surgeons (BCPS), said Dr Rahat Anwar Chowdhury.
In the country, a total of 74 physicians died from coronavirus infection while 11 others died with Covid-19 symptoms till date, according to the FDSR joint secretary-general.
