The Post and Telecommunication Division has sent 173.4 million messages on active mobile numbers to make people aware of Covid-19, said a press release.
The press release, issued by mobile financial service Nagad, said the messages were sent until February just before Bangladesh began witnessing the second wave of infection.
The minister in the messages urged the citizens to stay at home to ensure social distancing in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, according to the press release.
The minister also urged people to avail necessary services through mobile financial service Nagad, an arm of the Postal Department.
