Health Minister Zahid Malik said that due to coronavirus pandemic there is a risk of the poverty line expanding. In addition, if the situation prolongs child marriage may also rise.
He said this during a virtual meeting on the occasion of World Population Day on Saturday (July 11).
“Mortality rate is much lower in our country due to good health care system. Life has been disrupted due to Covid-19. The situation is the same not only in Bangladesh but all over the world. Many thanks to the field level officers, doctors, nurses who are working as frontline fighters,” said Zahid Malik.
