State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali said every primary school would be a home of practicing virtuousness.

“Primary schools teach children about ethics, social values, discipline and dutifulness so that they can make themselves as honest and ideal citizens of the country,” she said.

The state minister made these comments as the chief guest while speaking at a workshop titled “Sanctity Practice in Primary Education” at the auditorium of Officers’ Club on Saturday night, according to a press release on Sunday.

Rumana said, “No nation can hold its head high if the foundation of ethics and morality is not strong…Otherwise, it is not possible for a low-minded nation to establish ‘Sonar Bangla’ dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”

Moderated by Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman, president of Bangladesh Orthoniti Samity, the function also was addressed, among others, by Public Service Commission Chairman Sohorab Hossain, former principal secretary Abdul Karim, and Officers’ Club General Secretary Mesbah Uddin, added the press release.
