State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain on Wednesday said online transfer process of assistant teachers in government primary schools across the country will start from August.

However, the online transfer in 11 metropolitan cities including Dhaka will remain closed for the time being and a separate arrangement will be made soon, he said

The state minister made the remarks while inaugurating the online transfer of primary school teachers under a piloting project at his ministry.

Under the piloting project, the state minister inaugurated the online transfer of teachers of 18 primary schools against vacant posts at Kaliakore in Gazipur.

Earlier, on June 30, the transfer process was inaugurated by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur aiming to ensure easy and hassle free transfer of the primary schools teachers.

All the teachers who applied for transfer till July 15, 2022, were brought under the piloting of online transfer system.

Currently, there are 65,566 government primary schools across the country where about 4,00,000 teachers are working and recruitment of 45,000 more assistant teachers are underway.
