Dhaka Bangkhan Forum organised a successful "Priti Conference" on October 25, evening at Chung Wah Restaurant, Bijaynagar, Dhaka.
Business leaders, activists, and social workers gathered to discuss peace, unity, and sustainable development for the Bangakhan Union, Sadar, Lakshmipur. The event held after Maghrib prayers, served as a platform for sharing future goals and acknowledging past community service initiatives.
One of the highlights of the evening was Yousuf Ali, the event organiser, presenting a comprehensive development plan focused on aligning the Bangakhan Union’s growth. His plan emphasised strategies for advancing economic stability, healthcare access, and environmental resilience in Bangakhan.
Yousuf Ali also reflected on the forum's impactful activities over the past years, particularly during critical times. He highlighted the organisation’s efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included distributing relief goods, cash assistance, and essential supplies to vulnerable families.
Additionally, he noted the forum’s recent response to devastating floods, where they organised extensive relief efforts to support affected communities in Bangakhan Union.
The conference was further enriched by speeches from notable attendees, including Dr Muhammad Rezaul Karim, secretary general of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka-north and adviser of the Dhaka Bangakhan Forum, who emphasised the need for compassion and community duty, saying, “We work for people; it’s our duty. We must come forward when our neighbour is in crisis.” Social activist Nur Mohammad Rasel also spoke on fostering a balanced rural political landscape to ensure peace across all levels, from grassroots to the state.
The event concluded with a heartfelt dua for the martyrs of July and August, as speakers and attendees remembered their sacrifices for the nation.
The event also featured several distinguished guests and speakers, including Dr Anowarul Azim, vice-chairman of Biopharma Ltd; Hamed Bahar, chairman, National Ideal School and College; Anowarul Haque Babul, business enthusiast and social worker; Fazlur Rahman Mamun, managing director, DFL Group; Mostafizur Rahman Sohag, managing director, Welcare Group; Nur Mohammad Rasel, social activist; Humayun Kabir, president, Dhaka Lakshmipur District Forum and others.
The conference featured anchoring by Md Imtiaz Rafi and included insightful contributions from notable youth speaker Md Tarek Hossain, president of the Economics Students Society of Bangladesh (ESSB).
He urged the businessmen and industrialists in the conference to take proactive initiatives in creating employment opportunities, emphasising entrepreneurship in fostering economic growth and encouraging collaboration between the alumni and forum.
It was attended by over 200 delegates, creating a vibrant atmosphere for dialogue and collaboration. After the speeches, participants enjoyed dinner.
The forum's future initiatives aim to build on its previous community work and sustainable development efforts for the rural community, reaffirming its commitment to fostering unity, resilience, and sustainable growth within the Bangakhan Union.
