Private Hajj agencies on Thursday set the minimum cost for this year’s pilgrimage package at Tk 4,63,744.
Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) announced the package at a press briefing in the capital.
“The cost for sacrificing animals has not been included in the package. Every pilgrim has to spend an additional Tk 19,683 for sacrificing animals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said M Shahadat Hossain Taslim, secretary general of HAAB.
He said the total airfare is set at Tk 1,40,000, house rent at Tk 1,58,056, service and domestic transport in Saudi Arabia at Tk 42,635 while the remain would be added for other charges accordingly.
This year, a total of 57,856 pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj from Bangladesh.
Flights carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will begin on May 31, according to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
