Probe committee reformed over ex-army major's killing in Cox's Bazar

One new member has been added to a committee formed to investigate the killing of a retired Bangladesh Army officer on Friday night.

Besides, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Chattogram Division) and Joint Secretary Mizanur Rahman have been made the new conveners of the committee. The committee has been asked to submit an investigation report within the next seven working days.

The home ministry on Sunday informed about the matter through an order.

The probe committee was formed with three members earlier on Sunday, as confirmed by the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

On Friday (July 31), police shot dead Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan reportedly for obstructing police work in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. According to police, he was shot in self-defence.
