Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD) has formed a three-member committee to investigate the fire that destroyed 14 Volvo buses of London Express at a garage at Dharmikpara in Dhaka’s Demra late on Monday night.
FSCD Deputy Director Dhaka Division Md Saleh Uddin has been made the head of the committee, confirmed FSCD Deputy Assistant Director and Media Cell Officer-in-charge Md Shahjahan Sikder on Tuesday.
He said the investigation committee was asked to submit the report within 15 working days.
Meanwhile, RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director Khandakar Al Moin on Tuesday told reporters that they were investigating whether the fire was an accident or an act of sabotage.
He said, “Owners of the buses have not yet complained to us. However, our detectives are already working to find out whether it was a normal accident or sabotage.”
“Our detectives will contact the victims. If they have any suspicions, we will treat them with utmost importance. We will try to find out whether it is sabotage or not,” he added.
