Probe report submission deferred to Feb 25 in rape case against Nur, 5 others

A Dhaka court on Monday fixed February 25 for submission of a probe report against former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur and five others in a rape case filed with Lalbagh police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara fixed the new date as the concerned investigation officer failed to submit the report on February 8.

On September 21 last year, a female student of Dhaka University filed the case against Nurul Haque Nur and five others on allegations of abduction, rape and violating the Digital Security Act with Kotwali police station.

The same woman also filed a rape case with Lalbagh police station against six people including Nur.

The five other accused are -- Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Convener Hassan Al Mamun, 28, Joint Conveners Nazmul Hassan Shohag, 28, and Md Saiful Islam, 28, Vice-President Md Nazmul Huda, 25, and a student of Dhaka University named Md Abdullah Hill Baki, 23.
