Prominent citizens launch Anti-Corruption National Coordinating Committees

A platform of prominent citizens from different corners of the society has formed an Anti-Corruption National Coordinating Committee.

The leaders of the above committee marched with a procession on Sunday noon from the capital's Shahbagh intersection to Raju Sculpture. Later on they held a rally in front of the National Museum.

 Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury, Convener of the Anti-Corruption Coordinating Committee presided over the mass gathering.

Eminent individuals including Quayum Raja Chowdhury, Rafiqul Islam, ABM Mostafa Amin, Abul Kalam Azad and Setara Rezvi Lucky addressed the rally among others, according to a press release issued by the above guild for equal rights and socio-political veracity.

Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury said that Nobel Laureate economist and poverty eradicator with worldwide reputation Dr Muhammad Yunus has taken over the responsibility for leading a cabinet consisting of transparent and erudite academic scholars, financial experts, jurists, environmentalists, retired army officers and so on to run the interim government which took oath on August 8 this year.

Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury congratulated Dr Muhammad Yunus on being appointed in the post of Chief Adviser in the interim government.

Sarwar Wadud Chowdhury expressed hope that the interim government under the competent and visionary leadership of Dr Muhammad Yunus will be able to establish good governance, accountability and integrity in all sectors belonging to Bangladesh's state machinery.
