The government will borrow Tk 84,980 crore from banks to meet the huge budget deficit in the 2020-21 fiscal. Finance Minister proposed the bank loan in the proposed budget in Parliament on Thursday (June 11th).
Out of the total Tk 84,980 crore, long term loan will be 53 thousand 654 crore while short-term loan will be of Tk 31 thousand 326crore.
In the previous budget, the proposed amount for bank loans was Tk 47,364 crore.
The finance minister has proposed a budget of Tk 5 lakh 68 thousand crore for the fiscal year 2020-21with a deficit of 1 lakh 89 thousand 997 crore taka.
