Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Dr Md Mushfiqur Rahman on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to quickly complete the work of the projects with sincerity and dedication.
He issued the directives at a review meeting of the annual development programme (ADP) of the posts and telecommunications division (PTD) held at its meeting room, according to a press release.
The secretary mentioned that the division so far witnessed 20 per cent physical progress of all the projects for the fiscal year 2024-25 (FY25).
The meeting also reviewed the implementation progress of the decisions of the previous meeting and the implementation progress of the projects.
According to the IMED, the national progress of ADP implementation in the FY25 till August 2024 is 2.57 per cent while the PTD recorded 11.67 per cent till September 2024.
Mushfiqur Rahman said although the PTD’s ADP implementation rate in the FY25 is more than the national progress, there is nothing to be satisfied on it.
Mentioning that implementation of some ongoing projects has remained suspended due to a shortage of allocation, he said work on those projects will have to be completed quickly as soon as the allocation is available.
In the current financial year, PTD’s four departments have been implementing a total of nine projects, of which BTCL has five, Teletalk one, directorate of posts two and Bangladesh Submarine Cable PLC has one project.
The project directors concerned presented the progress and implementation status in the meeting.
