Public transports will operate in Dhaka and other cities, including Chattogram, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Cumilla, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rangpur from Wednesday.
Under certain conditions, including limited passengers, the public transports will carry people from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Considering the sufferings of the mass people and employees of different public and private organisations, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has approved of allowing the public transports to roll on city streets.
General Secretary of Awami League and the Road and Transport Minister Obaidul Quader informed the matter in a press briefing in his residence in the capital on Tuesday.
He said that public transport will move on keeping their vehicles half the capacity.
He emphasised that the staffers and the passengers must have to disinfect themselves precisely at the beginning and end of every trip.
He clearly stated that there was no scope of charging extra fares from the passengers.
The long route transports will remain suspended till further instructions.
