Purchase Committee approves two proposals
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) on Wednesday approved two separate proposals including procuring submarine cable for expansion of rural power distribution network in four divisions of the country.

The approval came from the sixth meeting of the CCGP held virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.

Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Dr Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal said, under a proposal from the Power Division, Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) will procure 264 kilometer 11kv and 33kv submarine cable from BRB Cable Industries Limited with a cost of around 107.94 crore taka under the project for expanding rural power distribution network at Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barishal Divisions.

Besides, the meeting approved another proposal of the Secondary and Higher Education Division for procuring consultancy services from Bishwo Shahitto Kendro for 24 months under Developing reading habit programme implementation management services with around 82.70 crore taka, he said.
