Major General Abdul Rahman Al Nasr, deputy chief of staff of Qatar armed forces, on Sunday paid courtesy calls on Chief of Army Staff General S M Shafiuddin Ahmed and Chief of Naval Staff (in-charge) Rear Admiral Mohammad Anwar Hossain.
The Qatar Deputy Chief of Staff, accompanied by Brigadier General Abdul Aziz Ghanem Al Qubaisi, Director of Qatar Military Decorations and Medals Directorate of Qatar, visited General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed at the Army Headquarters in the capital, an Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) release said.
Later, the Qatar envoy also visited Bangladesh Navy Chief (in-charge) at the Navy Headquarters in the city's Banani are, the release added.
During the meeting, both the Deputy Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces and the Navy Chief of Bangladesh emphasized on strengthening the mutual development between the two countries.
The Qatari delegation team will visit various military and naval establishments during their visit to Bangladesh till September 22, 2023, the release added.
