Qawmi madrasas to be reopened following health regulations

Qawmi madrasas have been allowed to reopen by strictly following health protocols. Postponed degree and masters level examinations can also be arranged now.

Technical and madrasa division of the education ministry came up with a notification in this regard on Monday. The notification was signed by the undersecretary of the educational ministry Syed Asgar Ali.

Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam also disclosed the same information to the press after a cabinet meeting at the secretariat in the city on Monday. He said, “As per the demand of those institutions, the government has given permission to the authorities of madrasas to hold examinations following health regulations.”

Earlier on August 17, the authorities of Qawmi madrasas of the country urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to give them chance to start the activities of Kitab Division and to hold examinations.

A representative team of Qawmi madrasas also submitted an application to the cabinet secretary in this regard on that day.
