Former member of parliament (MP) of Thakurgaon-2 constituency Md Mazharul Islam was arrested on Wednesday on charges of extortion and issuing death threats.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested him from the Nikunj area of the capital.
ANM Imran Khan, senior assistant director of RAB’s Legal and Media Wing, confirmed the arrest to the media.
