RAB arrests four cryptocurrency dealers in capital
Rapid Action Battalion arrests four cryptocurrency dealers from Dhaka on Sunday.

Rapid Action Battalion arrested four cryptocurrency dealers from the capital’s Darus Salam area on Sunday afternoon.

The elite force also seized two laptops and two debit cards from their possessions, said a press release.

The arrestees were identified as Hamim Khan Prince, 32, Rahul Sarkar, 21, Sanjib De Titas, 28 and Md Sohel Khan, 20. All the arrestees hail from Faridpur

RAB said that Hamim Khan Prince is the ringleader of the gang and the rest are his sidekicks. They transact around Tk 1.5 crore in a month through cryptocurrency, law enforcers added.

During primary interrogation the arrestees admitted that they used to make transactions through cryptocurrency and used to also purchase adult contents from dark porn sites which were later circulated in various porn sites.

The gang also used to lure young people into the usage of cryptocurrency, added the release.
