A top leader of the banned militant-outfit Hizbut Tahrir was arrested from the capital’s Adabor area on Wednesday.
He was identified as Md Tamal Uddin (38), son of Asfar Uddin.
There were four militancy-related cases against Tamal Uddin. He was an active member of Hizbut Tahrir’s Dawat and financial unit, said RAB-2 assistant director (Media) senior ASP Md Fazlul Haque.
He said acting on a tip-off, a team of militancy cell of RAB-2 conducted a raid in Adabor area and arrested Tamal.
Legal action is under process against Tamal, he added.
