Members of the Rapid Action Battalion has arrested two associates of Helena Jahangir from the capital’s Gabtoli area on Tuesday.
The arrested are Hajera Khatun and Sanaullah Nuri.
ASP Imran Khan, RAB's media and legal wing assistant director confirmed the matter.
Later in the day, RAB will hold a press briefing regarding the arrest at the elite force’s media centre in Karwan Bazar.
On July 29, RAB arrested Helena Jahangir from her Gulshan residence, four days after she was removed from her post of a ruling party sub-committee.
RAB members seized foreign liquor, illegal walkie-talkie sets, casino equipment and deer skins during a four-hour raid on her home.
RAB also filed three cases against Helena Jahangir —under the Telecommunication, the Digital Security Act (DSA) and Narcotics Control Act, Special Powers Act, Wildlife Conservation Act and Telecommunications Act.
On July 30, a Dhaka court placed Helena Jahangir on a three-day remand in the DSA case.
