Rafsan wins ‘PHP Quraner Alo’ contest

Hafez Md Rafsan Mahmud Jisan of Cumilla has won first place in the “PHP Quraner Alo-2024” contest, beating 22,000 competitors from all over the country.

The announcement was made after the final round was organised at a five-star hotel in Dhaka on Sunday, just before Iftar.

Hafez Md Didarul Islam from Mymensingh secured second position in the competition while Hafez Md Anas Mahfuz of Gopalganj secured third place, and Hafez Md Anas Prodhan from Cumilla placed fourth.

At this unique event, being organised for 16 years, contestants from all over the country were selected. Through a lively competition, four were shortlisted for the final round. This year's final pre-selection was held in Dubai through an exceptional arrangement.

At Sunday’s final, first place holder Rafasn won Tk 4 lakh, Didarul received Tk 3 lakh, Mahmud Tk 2 lakh and lastly the fourth contestant, Anas was given a consolation prize of Tk 1 lakh.

Religious Affairs Minister Md Faridul Haque Khan, PHP Family Chairman and Founder Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman, NTV Director Ashfaque Uddin Ahmed, Center for Zakat Management Chairman Niaz Rahim, Infinity Mega Mall Chairman Mohammad Junaid, Savoy Ice Cream Factory Limited Managing Director Niaz Ahmed, and Quraner Alo Foundation Secretary Mufti Md Mohiuddin graced the event as guests.

Faridul said, “The Quran is a complete life guide for people. If we shape our lives in the light of the provisions of the Quran, success will come in our lives. Peace, happiness and prosperity will come to the society if the light of the Quran spreads all over the country. Turmoil will be removed from the country.”

Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman said, “This programme has been arranged for the last 16 years and has already gained much popularity across the country. The Quran is an important part of human life and a complete guide to life. The Quran can enlighten people's lives if we can truly hold the Quran in our hearts.”

Announcing the continuation of the competition, he said, "Allah will destroy those who commit blasphemy and prevent people from coming to the right path. This is the announcement of Almighty Allah.”

He urged everyone to shape their lives in the light of the Quran and assured that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will come next time to grace the programme.

Shah Iftekhar Tariq moderated the event. The judges included Hafez Qari Zahirul Islam of the International Hafez and Qari Selection Board, Hafez Qari Sheikh Qari Mohammad Abdullah, and Hafez Qari Mohammad Fakhrul Huda of the former auditor branch of Hifzul Quran, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
