Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited has been awarded with the “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial Award 2020” for its outstanding contribution to the solar power sector.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun handed over the award at a programme at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Thursday.
In seven categories, a total of 23 companies received the award for their contributions to the country’s economic growth, said a press release on Sunday.
Munawar Misbah Moin, managing director and Engineer Mohin Habib, chief executive officer of the company, were present on the occasion.
This was the first time that the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Award was introduced in seven categories. The award will be given every year from now on.
The first prize in each category of the award will be Tk 3 lakh and a 25-gram gold-plated crest.
The second prize is Tk 2 lakh and a 20-gram gold-plated crest, and the third prize Tk 1 lakh and a 15-gram gold-plated crest.
