Due to a short circuit in the engine light of the Dhaka-bound Parabat Express train, rail connectivity between Sylhet and the rest of the country was disrupted for approximately 3 hours.
On Saturday evening, around 5:00pm, at Bhanugach Railway Station in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar, issues with the train's engine light were detected. Station Master Kabir Ahmed later confirmed that normal communication was restored at around 9:00pm that night.
It has been reported that when the Parabat Express, originating from Sylhet, arrived at Bhanugach Railway Station in Kamalganj, the engine light malfunctioned at 5:40pm.
As a result, train communication with Sylhet was severed. Approximately three hours later, at 9:00pm, a rescue engine arrived to tow the Parabat Express back to operational status. Simultaneously, the Udyan Express, heading towards Chattogram, did not depart from Sylhet Railway Station at the scheduled time.
Station Master Kabir Ahmed of Bhanugach Railway Station said when the Parabat Express arrived in the evening, the engine light failed. However, with the introduction of an alternative engine from Kulaura, normal rail communication was restored by 9:00pm.
