Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) predicted rain or thundershowers in eight divisions of the country in 24 hours starting from 9am on Monday.
“Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram with hails at isolated places,” BMD said in its latest bulletin.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni and Bandarban and it may abate from some places.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the bulletin.
The highest temperature was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius in Bandarban on Sunday while the lowest temperature was recorded at 20.1 degrees Celsius at Rajhshahi on Monday.
The weather office recorded the highest 38mm rainfall in Ishurdi.
Meanwhile, a Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.
