Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in eight divisions including Dhaka in 24 hours commencing 9am on Wednesday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” Met office said.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The low-pressure area over Northwest Bay and the adjoining area persists. The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, the centre of the low to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
