Sunday’s rainfall is likely to continue at different parts of the country including the capital, Bangladesh Meteorological Department said on Monday.
In a regular weather forecast bulletin, it said rain or thundershowers, accompanied by a temporary gusty wind, is likely to occur in many places over Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Sylhet divisions and at a few places over the country.
According to the Met Office (BMD), the southwest monsoon has advanced up to Chattogram, Barisal, Sylhet, and Mymensingh divisions and the eastern part of the Dhaka division. Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the southwest monsoon.
It rained all day long on Sunday as monsoon winds entered the border of Bangladesh and had been sweeping over different regions of the country. People suffered due to waterlogging and muddy roads along with traffic congestion.
