The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed two separate cases against the Director (Development Control-2) of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) Mobarak Hossain and his wife Sahana Parveen on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 2 crore.
On Wednesday, Asif Al Mahmud, the assistant director of ACC, filed the cases at the ACC’s Dhaka integrated district office. Public Relations Officer of ACC Aktarul Islam confirmed the matter.
As per the case document, an investigation revealed that Mubarak Hossain’s assets do not align with his reported income, showing a difference of Tk 41,46,845. As a result, the ACC has filed a case against him.
On the other hand, his wife Sahana Parveen is a housewife by profession but evidence has been found that she acquired assets worth Tk 1,58,73,152. According to ACC, she obtained these properties using her husband’s dishonest earnings.
That is why Shahana Parveen has been made the main accused and Mobarak Hossain is the second accused in this case for helping to acquire illegal wealth.
