Ramadan begins in Saudi Arabia on Saturday

The holy month of Ramadan will begin in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

The country’s Supreme Court made an official announcement on Friday, reports Saudi Gazette.

In a statement issued by the Saudi royal court, the Supreme Court said, "Saturday, April 2, is the first of Ramadan for the year 1443H."

The Supreme Court held a hearing on Friday evening to hear statements from persons who saw the Ramadan crescent. The Supreme Court confirmed that the moon had been seen after reviewing the testimonies it had received.
