Rape case against Nur, 5 others: Probe report submission deferred to Dec 20

A Dhaka court on Monday fixed December 20 for submission of probe report in a case against former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur and five others on kidnap, rape, and abetment to rape charges under the Digital Security Act (DSA), and the Women and Children Repression Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Court Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akhter fixed the new date as the concerned investigation officer failed to submit the probe report on November 30.

On September 21, a female student of Dhaka University filed the case against Nurul Haque Nur and five others on allegations of abduction, rape and violating the DSA with Kotwali police station.

The same woman also filed a rape case with Lalbagh police station against six people including Nur. However, she did not complain about the abduction and violating the DSA in the latter case.

The five other accused are -- Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Convener Hassan Al Mamun, 28; Joint Conveners Nazmul Hassan Shohag, 28 and Md Saiful Islam, 28; Vice-President Md Nazmul Huda, 25, and a student of Dhaka University named Md Abdullah Hill Baki, 23.
