Rape case against Nur, 5 others: Probe report submission deferred to Jan 5

A Dhaka court on Sunday fixed January 5 for submission of a probe report against former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur and five others in connection with a rape case filed with Lalbagh police station.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman fixed the new date as the concerned investigation officer failed to submit the report on December 20.

On September 21, a female student of Dhaka University filed the case against Nurul Haque Nur and five others on allegations of abduction, rape and violating the DSA with Kotwali police station.

The same woman also filed a rape case with Lalbagh police station against six people including Nur.

The five other accused are -- Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad Convener Hassan Al Mamun, 28; Joint Conveners Nazmul Hassan Shohag, 28 and Md Saiful Islam, 28; Vice-President Md Nazmul Huda, 25, and a student of Dhaka University named Md Abdullah Hill Baki, 23.
